The August writing workshop “Revision: Beyond the First Draft” will take place from 2 to 4 pm, Sunday, Aug. 24, in the large study room at the Algonquin Area Library Main Branch (Harnish).
Directions: From the adult services desk, take a left. The room is the first one on your left. It has a large table and wipe board.
“Revision: Beyond the First Draft” will focus on the process of revising and will include important steps as well as helpful tips and tricks for turning a draft into a polished piece of work. Please bring a piece of writing with you (short story, novel excerpt, poem, essay, etc.,) that needs revising. Time will be allotted for making changes, as this is a “workshop” more than a lecture. Ideally, bring a hard copy (paper) of your work. However, if you prefer to revise on computer, bring your laptop.
PLEASE comment here by 5 pm Friday, Aug 22, if you will attend or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. The meeting room seats only six. If more people want to attend, the location will be changed.
Hope to see you there!
