Sorry I couldn’t make it to Panera. I wound up having a family emergency. And I can’t make it this Saturday, either, because I’m going to a friend’s house since we haven’t seen each other in forever. Am I ever a great example!!
I’m not far at all in my NaNoWriMo novel. In fact, I’m only around 3,000 words. Something tells me I won’t make it unless a miracle happens.
Also, Arun, are you reading this blog? I wanted to tell you I mentioned your Gulf project to a friend of mine – AJ Jacobs, editor of Esquire magazine. I didn’t push it on him or anything, but I did give it a mention. I don’t want to abuse the friendship, but you never know what may catch his eye.
I’ve always wanted to do the travel journalism thing. I so badly wanted to go after Katrina. I dabble in photography, too, and there are fascinating stories that deserve to be heard. I just can’t get away, though, with three kids, work, etc.
Ah well. Maybe someday. In the meanwhile I can always write up something for the upcoming Turkey Testicle Festival in Huntley. And I wish I were kidding about that!
