I finally booked Robyn Okrant (we’ve been going back and forth w/this for a year!) at the main library on Wednesday, September 28, starting at 7:00 p.m. She followed Oprah’s advice for a year, then wrote a book about it.
Should be a pretty big library draw, but then again I thought President Clinton’s diarist would be, too, and we wound up having to cancel for lack of sign-ups… Can you believe that? It was awful. I felt so stupid having to tell her that. I even ran around town with posters and only a couple people signed up. But Oprah… Hate to say she’s a bigger draw, but I think she may be.
Still working on Elizabeth Berg. I emailed her publicist again, and will write Elizabeth (she put her address on her website) if nothing else. She’s a big library advocate. If this works out I’m hoping to schedule her for October sometime.
But we have Robyn Okrant!
