Rather than holding a workshop this month (in addition to the regularly scheduled critique group), I thought it might be a nice time of year to take advantage of the autumn weather and get outdoors to do some independent writing.  I suggest spending some time outside looking for inspiration.  Perhaps the shifting weather and autumn colors will help you set a new scene.  Maybe you’ll choose to sit outside and do some journaling, write a poem, develop a new story idea, or work on rewrites for an ongoing project.

When we meet for our critique group on Thursday, Oct. 30, we can devote a few minutes at the beginning or end of the meeting  to briefly share what we accomplished during our October independent writing challenge.  Please also feel free to comment on this post to share what you’re working on this month, along with the impact that the incoming fall season has had on your writing.
